To further explore contemporary art, the IAC offers opportunities for engagement and deepening knowledge during exhibitions:
The IAC's Public Programs team works year-round in partnership with educational institutions to promote artistic and cultural education through experimentation and transdisciplinarity.

♦ These initiatives are supported by the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the Academic Delegation for Arts and Culture of Lyon and Grenoble (DAAC), as well as the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region.

Artistic and Cultural Project Classes

This artistic and cultural education program from the Ministry of National Education is available for primary, middle, and high school classes. Students visit the IAC multiple times for guided tours of temporary exhibitions. Additionally, artist-led workshops are organized throughout the school year in partnership with the Institute.

LES ATELIERS DU REGARD

Les Ateliers du Regard offers an in-depth and ongoing introduction to contemporary art.
Throughout the school year, each group participates in multiple sessions to explore three exhibitions and develop a reflection on the visitor's role.

This program is available for students from kindergarten through high school.
♦ €2 per student with the school's membership.

"un territoire en trois temps"

The IAC aims to support the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes regions over a two to three-year period, both by presenting works from its collection and by developing artist residencies. The first phase of engagement typically involves showcasing IAC’s collection within a cultural, heritage, or associative structure, either public or private, which thus enriches its local area for audiences of all ages, both individual and school-based. A second phase deepens this engagement, focusing on the educational system, with local training initiatives (FIL) offered in partnership with the Academic Delegation for Arts and Culture (DAAC) to bring projects into schools, closely aligned with teachers. The third phase of interaction and exchange is realized through the presence of an emerging artist in residence.

Artistic and Cultural Education Residencies

In partnership with the city of Villeurbanne
Artist residencies within schools are implemented under a multi-year agreement supporting artistic and cultural education, signed with the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of National Education, the Metropolis of Lyon, and the CAF. These actions aim to engage the entire educational community, influencing the various aspects of children's lives and extending into the surrounding neighborhood.

These territorial artistic residencies allow for a sustained artistic experience that closely connects with local residents. This experimental cultural initiative fosters interactions between residents, artists, artworks, and the creative process, involving all community stakeholders (educational, social, cultural, associative). The project proposed by the IAC has been selected by the city of Villeurbanne and the DRAC Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes for implementation from March 2023 to June 2024 in the Grandclément neighborhood.

During this period, two artists are in residence:
Amandine Arcelli from March 2023 to June 2023, and Éléonore Pano-Zavaroni from September 2023 to June 2024.
