Publishing is one of the strong points among the Institut d’Art Contemporain’s activities, as it had been also for the Nouveau Musée. Whether it be precise and thorough monographs (Giulio Paolini, Adrian Piper, François Curlet, Michel François), artists’ writings (Lawrence Weiner, Dan Graham, Mario Merz), or theoretical works drawing on contributions from great thinkers in contemporary art (Benjamin Buchloh, Jean-Luc Nancy, Jean-Marc Poinsot), the accent is placed on exacting standards of writing and on new and original collaborations, faithful in this to the spirit of research inherent to the Institut. This editorial activity continues today, armed with its long history, namely through the IAC collection of the Presses du Réel.
