The IAC collection, hosting a wealth of almost 1,800 artworks by nationally and internationally renowned artists, is one of the major French public collections of contemporary art. Having inherited the funds of the FRAC Rhône-Alpes, the collection has been constantly enhanced through the years to represent all of the fields and mediums of creation (painting, photography, sculpture, installation and video).

The collection features work by some of the major artists of our times (Daniel Buren, Dan Graham, Anish Kapoor, On Kawara, Mario Merz, Gerhard Richter, Lawrence Weiner…) in addition to artists with burgeoning careers (Saâdane Afif, Ulla von Brandenburg, Jason Dodge, Guillaume Leblon, Hans Schabus…) and artists who have already achieved international recognition.

The direction of the collection, that has been quite conceptual and prospective since the beginning, is perpetuated and enhanced through the regular acquisition of artworks in dialogue with exhibitions, in the spirit of a correlation between creation and collection, considering the exhibition as vector of a collection.
