La Fabrique des Regards

from  to
From January to May 2026, the IAC is offering middle and high school students an unprecedented project, La Fabrique des regards, as part of the "Esprits en liberté" programme, in partnership with the DAAC, the Lyon Metropolitan Authority, and the City of Villeurbanne.

Designed to foster critical thinking and artistic sensitivity through contemporary works from the IAC collection, this project invited students from five public middle and high school classes in Villeurbanne to actively explore perception and aesthetic judgment — where every point of view is unique and the diversity of perceptions becomes a tool for learning.

The project is based on works by Camille Llobet, whose sound and video installations explore the body, attention, and perception. Pacheû, croquis sonores (2023) immerses viewers in the sounds of the mountains, recorded using a binaural microphone attached to a mountaineering helmet, transforming the spatial and bodily perception of place. The video Faire la musique (2017) explores the relationship between body and thought through mental training protocols performed by high-level athletes in an abstract environment, detached from their usual context, questioning the body, memory, and attention.

Workshops and meetings with the artist, as well as with Lou Lombard and Camille Bardin, supported students in observing, articulating, and sharing their impressions. Moments of analysis and discussion were designed to encourage the exchange of perceptions and viewpoints, while developing argumentation skills and nuance in critical expression.

From May 20 to June 4, 2026, visitors will be able to (re)discover the two works by Camille Llobet at the IAC, alongside the students’ productions created throughout the project.

Camille Llobet

A graduate of the École supérieure d’art Annecy Alpes (ESAA), Camille Llobet recently presented her work in the exhibitions Collection à l’étude (IAC & URDLA, Villeurbanne, 2018), Silences (Museum of Art and History, Geneva, 2019), and À voix haute (La Graineterie, Houilles, 2020). She has also held several solo exhibitions, including Second (Centre d’art de Vénissieux, 2014), Partition (Centre d’art de Thonon-les-Bains, 2017), Majelich (*Printemps de Septembre*, Toulouse, 2018), Idiolecte (Galerie Florence Loewy, Paris, 2019), and Risvolto (Recontemporary, Turin, 2019). After participating in the group exhibitions Des voix traversées at the Institut d’art contemporain in 2022 and L’Art d’apprendre – Une école des créateurs at Centre Pompidou-Metz, Camille Llobet was the subject of a major solo exhibition at the IAC in 2023, Fond d’air, where she notably presented her new high-altitude sound and video work, Pacheû.

Lou Lombard

An artist and teacher in applied arts, Lou Lombard graduated from the École supérieure d’art Annecy Alpes (ESAA). She regularly collaborates with artist Camille Llobet, as her assistant on several projects. Alongside her artistic and pedagogical practice, Lou Lombard competed in high-level mountain sports for many years, an experience that directly informs her sensitive approach to landscape, listening, and the relationship to the body. Through a series of workshops, Lou Lombard guided middle school students in the discovery of the work Faire la musique and high school students in the exploration of Pacheû, croquis sonores.

Camille Bardin

Camille Bardin is an independent art critic, exhibition curator, and founder of the podcast PRÉSENT.E. After writing for various publications, she became involved with the collective Jeunes Critiques d’Art, advocating for an independent and engaged form of art criticism. She became co-president of the collective in 2019 and co-founded the international confederation YACI that same year. Since 2020, she has hosted the podcast PRÉSENT.E, which offers an intimate insight into artistic creation and now includes around fifty episodes. Today, she also contributes to exhibition catalogues and monographs for various galleries and institutions, co-hosts the programme Traversée, and presents the monthly podcast Pourvu Qu’iels Soient Douxces, produced by Projets média and conceived by Jeunes Critiques d’Art. Camille Bardin was awarded the AICA Prize in 2021.
