BORN IN 2000 IN SAINT-ÉTIENNE
LIVES AND WORKS IN SAINT-ÉTIENNE & PARIS
A graduate of the École Supérieure d’Art et Design de Saint-Étienne, Colin Riccobene builds a sculptural practice rooted in his explorations and experiences. He undertakes unusual journeys—such as traveling aboard freight trains—and gathers shapes and fragments from both natural environments (forests, underground rivers) and sites marked by human activity (former marble workshops, abandoned or ruined places).
This research unfolds in the studio, where he creates “memorial” sculptures that extend these experiences. His work often draws on a medieval aesthetic, seeking to shed light on forgotten or invisible places within our urban environments. These sculptures thus become poetic witnesses, imbued with personal narratives and imaginative resonances.
