After months of immersion in the rich universe of INTRICATIONS, the Institut d’art contemporain opens one final moment of intensity. Gathered around Josèfa Ntjam and her invited accomplice, Soñ Gweha aka SOÑXSEED, the IAC will transform, for the duration of an evening, into a space of convergence and resonance—an ephemeral sanctuary where memory and becoming, the intimate and the collective, are woven together. This closing moment symbolically brings INTRICATIONS to an end while carrying forward the very impulse that shaped it: a gesture of listening, openness, and celebration—a way of saying that stories here never truly end, but continue to vibrate in the bodies of those who have experienced them.
→ Libation as a Sample – Soñ Gweha aka SOÑXSEED
Invited by Josèfa Ntjam to close the exhibition Intrications alongside her, Soñ Gweha aka SOÑXSEED presents Libation as a Sample: a sonic extension between ritual and collage, where voices, poetry, vinyl records and elements of nature intertwine “to invoke memory, celebration, and the resistance of our ancestors and their struggles.”
Inspired by her sources—resistant family figures, Black, queer fxmmes, and the knowledge of the “people of the cave”—SOÑXSEED brings together tribute, DJing and sampling as gestures of libation. A journey through Intrications, sustained by the vitality of plants and water…
→ A constellation of blackness – Josèfa Ntjam
For a final burst of intensity, Josèfa Ntjam presents A Constellation of Blackness, a live performance accompanied by an original video creation by artist Sean Hart. Hypnotic, captivating and powerful, this set combines spoken word and instrumental improvisation, drawing on afrofuturist influences and sampled clips, notably from popular Black figures of the 20th century. Josèfa Ntjam confronts references from African mythologies, ancestral rituals, religious symbolism and science fiction, evoking “notions of the expansion of the universe, stars, connection to ancestors across the cosmos,” as well as blackness, darkness and antimatter.
