Inaugurated in the summer of 2023, the summer workshops offer opportunities for meetings and shared experiences centered around artworks and artistic practices. This year, they provide a chance to delve deeper into the themes explored by the exhibition Pratiques cosmomorphes – (Ré)générer le vivant.

"Territoire du levain"
The sculptures, films, photographs, and performances that make up Marie Preston's work result from collective endeavors. With an interest in anthropology, the artist collaborates with various professionals and amateurs to explore and engage in specific, often artisanal practices. Currently, she is involved in a participatory research project that brings together bakers, facilitators, researchers, trainers, and artists around leaven, territory, and the uniqueness of bread. We know that the biodiversity of leaven comes from the hands and tools of the person who handles it. But does the surrounding landscape nourish it as well? Bring a wooden spoon.

Lives and works in Paris (France)
A graduate of the École nationale supérieure des Beaux-Arts de Paris and holding a doctorate in Arts and Sciences of Art (University of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne), Marie Preston is an associate professor at the University of Paris 8 Vincennes-Saint-Denis and a member of the Teamed research team (Aesthetics of New Media Research Team/Arts of Images and Contemporary Art Laboratory - EA4010).
