IAC’s collection hosts a wealth of nearly 1900 artworks by more than 800 nationally and internationally renowned artists, with whom IAC often has a close and long-term relationship. The direction of the collection, that has been quite conceptual and prospective since the beginning, is perpetuated and enhanced through the regular acquisition of artworks in dialogue with exhibitions and research projects, in the spirit of a correlation between creation and collection.
Having inherited the funds of the FRAC Rhône-Alpes, the collection has been constantly enhanced through the years to represent all of the fields and mediums of creation (painting, photography, sculpture, installation and video).
The collection features work by some of the major artists of our times (Daniel Buren, Dan Graham, Anish Kapoor, On Kawara, Mario Merz, Gerhard Richter, Lawrence Weiner…) in addition to artists with burgeoning careers (Saâdane Afif, Ulla von Brandenburg, Jason Dodge, Guillaume Leblon, Hans Schabus…) and artists who have already achieved international recognition.
